This is a sculpture relief made from copper wire. It is the profile of the late Shah of Iran as he appeared on Pahlavi coins. I’m still working on it.

The words are made from his famous speech in the international court of Justice in Den Haag, Holland.

There is a long history of friendship between Iranians and Jewish people.
In fact many of prominent Iranians who can call themselves Iranians are Jewish and have been in Iran for longer than any other Iranian ethnic groups.
It is so tragic that an Islamic-fundamentalist Government that is not democratic and does not represent Iranian people is bringing the two nation into war.

Today is the 31st anniversary of the death of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi. He, along side his father were arguably the most constructive Kings of Iran for the last four, five hundred years.
I have always been a Republican on the basis of principle but having matured I have come to realize how progressive he was and how he had raised our national pride. Today I don’t want to remember his critisms, I want to celebrate his life. A few years ago, I meant this pop Art painting as a tribute.
